Basic savory pie
As the title suggests, consider this pie as a basis, that you can alter and improve upon to suit your tastes, fantasy and needs. You can use it as a soft pastry (replacing baguettes, rolls) onto which you can put a spread like chutney, guacamole, butter, cheese or you can put inside during the preparation ingredients such as spinach, carrots, scallion, dried tomatoes and so on. If you are going to be making the pie with such an ingredient in addition, it's important to use appropriately less almond flour!
This pie is perfect with just herbs, our favorite is basil.
It can also be used as a side dish, for example with szeged goulash instead of dumplings.
- eggs - 5 M
- butter - 1/2 cup
- Almond flour - 2 cups
- cottage cheese - 1/2 (100 g)
- salt - 1 teaspoon
- caraway - 1 tblspn
- soda - pinch
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 17 minutes / 125°C / 650W
Result: 15 - 20 portions
Crack the eggs into a bowl, add melted butter, salt, caraway, crumbled cottage cheese and blend with a stick blender. Add almond flour in two steps and blend again - the almonds will go even softer by blending. Finally mix in the soda - add it always as the last, otherwise the blending will be harder. Bake in a preheated combined microwave oven on a crisp plate.
SCD diet: this pie can easily replace rolls and baguettes in time when you are starting out with the healing process, when it is necessary to treat the affected organs during relapse or acute cases (that is why this pie is basic with no added ingredients) - see How to start with SCD.
